Communicating Europe at eye level

"Europa für wirklich Erwachsene" ("Europe for truly grown-ups") – an information booklet for senior citizens published by the Commission Representation and its partner organisations.
"Europe for truly grown-ups" is part of our effort to get in
touch with senior citizens and to offer them information on the
European Union. The booklet is the answer to questions and
suggestions that THEY have put to us", said Richard Kühnel, new
Head of Representation of the European Commission in Austria.
Europe for truly grown-ups analyses how much or little truth there
is in popular myths about and wide-spread prejudices towards the
EU: The booklet presents a wealth of facts showing that the EU does
a lot for ist citizens, including senior citizens.
Europe in real-life examples
Europe for truly grown-ups explains why statements like "the euro
has caused prices to rise", "the EU doesn't allow us to use the
word 'Marmelade' any more", or "in the EU, the big eat the small"
are not true at all. The booklet presents a series of real-life
projects carried out in various parts of Austria and explains in
which ways the EU has been supporting Austrian citizens.
The European Union is a joint project – The "European
Union" that's us!
The booklet itself proves this idea: The Representation realised
this brochure jointly with ist Europe Direct network partners,
whose main task it is to inform Austrians about the EU. The network
of Europe Direct centres covers all nine provinces from Dornbirn to
Pinkafeld, from Salzburg to Klagenfurt.
Project partners also included the Information Office of the
European Parliament in Austria and the Federal
Chancellery/"Europatelefon".
